I love that feeling…

I love the feeling of having a fully edited, final version of a children’s story to share with the world.

I’m probably stating the obvious here, but I really like the notion of creativity as a whole.

This year (2024), I’ve allowed myself to embrace, and frankly, fall in love, with being aware of creativity as being just another part of my being. To me, creativity is not something that I do or have only sometimes, such as when I’m writing; it’s something I actually live and embody. It’s around me. All the time. I see it and appreciate it all the time. I feel happier for its presence and inherent beauty, and for the serendipity and opportunities it may bring about in people’s lives. I feel excited for it. And above all, I feel grateful for it. From the most beautiful layered cake, carefully crafted by an artisan baker, to the gorgeous midnight blue evening gown that’s been handmade by a seamstress, I can appreciate it all.

I feel lucky to have been able to tap into my own creative side, and to have started writing children’s stories. I’ve made a few of those stories available for free on my website, and I have many more that I’ve written, which I’ll make available for free in time, together with lovely illustrations created by brilliant and talented illustrators.

My latest book, “The Plain Party Dress”, is a story which I wrote in one sitting, with minimal developmental edits having to be made by my editors. That’s a pretty special and major accomplishment for me.

Like I said at the start of this post, I love the feeling of having a fully edited, final version of a children’s story to share with the world. I’m so happy to be able to share with you “The Plain Party Dress”, which (and this is a first for me…) is now available at various retailers, including Barnes & Noble and Kobo, as well as other retailers here.

I’m cooking up other story bits and bobs, which I can’t wait to share with you in 2025.

So excited!

See you soon!

Dee Ann
